Panama
My mom has been trying to visit Panama and go through the canal for years. So for her birthday this month she was finally able to go and brought my immediate family with her. I have never seen her so excited and joyful as we made our way through the locks. She was like a little girl on christmas morning. It is truly an incredible piece of work and if anyone ever has the chance to see it, I highly advise that they take that opportunity.
On a different note, although we only spent one full day and two half days in Panama City, I noticed so much progression happening around. Every local person we interacted with talked about how developed the city has become, and it was super interesting to see how they were re-creating the 'old town'. From what we heard, the city had relocated most of the residents from their homes so they could renovate the older buildings into more modern structures. I understand they are trying to lure tourists into these areas and earn some revenue, but I feel like so much of what is happening is taking away from the original location.
Beautiful city, very blessed I was able to see it, and I'd love to go back and see what the rest of Panama has to offer.
