Chicago
This August I was fortunate enough to venture out to Chicago with one of my best friends. We didn't plan too much, except for a place to stay, how long we would stay and an open mind for adventure. It was awesome finally getting to see the city and make our way through all the nooks and crannies. So many great places in such a short amount of time. I'd love to go back and see everything I didn't get to. This is just a small bit of what I saw.

Highway Chile
My good friend Blake Vanderham has recently began an endeavor throughout the west end of the united states. On the road and open to any experience, he is creating a story that I believe will inspire others to pursue their passions. I was able to meet up with him in Santa Cruz, CA for a short minute and took a few stills of his vessel. I wish him the best of travels and can't wait to hear what stories he has to tell.
Find him on Instagram and follow his journey: @hwy_chile

PoP
I was invited to participate in gathering of photographers and models in Venice Beach, CA organized by Pursuit of Portraits. www.pursuitofportraits.com
Artists from all over LA and NY joined to talk, mingle, network, and photograph one another. It was super interesting to see everyone showcase their skills. The amount of talent within this group was incredible and I would not necessarily call myself a portraits photographer, however after this event my eyes were opened to the idea that portrait photography is more than just a head shot. I found my own reasons to pursue portraits.

Minolta Diaries
Every now and again I get the chance to develop some film. I actually have a basket of rolls that have accumulated for the past few years and to be honest I don't even know what most of the photos are. It's a pretty exciting though when you get a roll of film back, and these are from around February of this year, so about six months ago. There's for just something about film that has a look and feel that nothing digital can recreate. These were all shot on my Minolta SRT101 using Ilford HP5. I love this camera, but sadly it is currently under maintenance.

Fire Escapes
I can't explain why I've always been a little into fire escapes. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I never saw them growing up that often, or the thought of having to climb out of a burning building along with a bunch of other people, and then having to jump 15 feet seemed like such a crazy idea. So whenever I can I take a second and appreciate these contraptions for what they are. While I was strolling through the greatest city on the planet (for reasons specific to myself) I got my fix for a while, because they had them all. Tall ones, short ones, boring ones, beautiful ones, sketchy ones, and pointless ones. I don't discriminate on what they look like nor their designers intentions, I just enjoy seeing them around hanging on the side of these buildings. Maybe I feel like they don't get the recognition they deserve because it's one of those things can be fun to look at, but you hope you never have to use.

Casper, Wyoming
It's nice to get away from the suburbs and the city. Took a drive from Orange County to Casper, Wyoming and there was so much to see and take in and it was great to have a week to get away with my girlfriend and her family and relax my mind a little.

New York in June
The first week of June was an amazing one because I was given the opportunity fly to the east coast and show my girlfriend New York City for her first time. We tried to see everything we could and do as much as possible, and even though we walked our legs off it made for an unforgettable trip. I intended to bring black and white film with me, however due to an unfortunate incident my Minolta wasn't able to make the flight. I did not want that to stop from getting the images I intended to shoot, so I forced myself to pretend every photo I took was going to come out black and white. I'm pleased with the images I ended up with and the whole trip was a learning experience. Apart from a giant batch of touristy photos that I have, these are the ones I'd like to share.

Montage
In a small corner of Orange County there's a gorgeous resort where you can walk around and get amazing views of the ocean. One of my favorite times to go is at during the evening, full moon or not, and take pictures of the coastline. Montage in Laguna Beach, CA is the perfect place to go, day or night, to take moment and separate yourself from the traffic of Southern California. If you get the chance I strongly recommend making your way to this resort and see this for yourself.

The Blues
Check out these groovy photos, all of which were shot on film, giving them that classic gritty vibe. An old practice in the hands of a new artist.
